How to access your router if you don't know its username/password

If you’ve forgotten a router’s password or if you acquired a used router and don’t know its password - there’s a way to reset the password.

1. Go to START on bottom left corner of the screen.  

2. Type cmd in Run or Search bar and hit Enter.

3. When a Command Prompt opens up, type in ipconfig and hit enter.

4. Locate your Default Gateway under Ethernet Adapter (Local Area Connection), mark and copy that address.

5. Go to your web browser and paste the previously copied address in the URL search bar, hit Enter. It will asks you for Username and Password.

6. Go to your router (physical object).

7. Below, on bottom of the router try to locate Router Access Code, memorize or write down the code.

8. Go back to your PC and web browser on the tab you were previously on trying to access your router.

9. Write or paste your Router Access Code you previously wrote down or memorized in the Password section.

10. For Username try these inputs: "user", "admin" "000", "administrator" or blank or any other default Username you could think of (without quotes). TIP: You can find default usernames and passwords for various routers on RouterPasswords.com

11. Congratulations! You now should have a full access to your Router.
