How to Find Saved Password in Windows Internet Explorer/Edge Browser

Finding saved passwords in Chrome is easy, you go to 'Settings' then under 'Passwords and Forms' you click 'Manage Passwords' and then you click 'Show' but finding saved passwords in Internet Explorer/Edge browser is quite complicated process because there is no simple option in the IE/Edge browser to do so as on Chrome browser.
In this article, I’m going to show few ways you can use to view these hidden passwords.

Windows Credential Manager

Credential Manager is a built-in windows tool which you can find in 'Control Panel/User Accounts' or by typing 'Credential Manager' in Windows search.
You’ll notice there are two categories: Web Credentials and Windows Credentials. The web credentials will have any passwords from sites that you saved while browsing in Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge. Click on the down arrow and then click on the Show link. You’ll have to type in your Windows password in order to view the password.

Third-Party Utilities

Even though you can find quite a few passwords using the method above, there are still more saved in other locations on your system. To get to these, you have to use some third party tools. My favorite tool is Nirsoft's IE PassView. Get it from the Nirsoft site, install it and run it to reveal the IE/Edge saved passwords.
