To set up your Chromecast, you'll need:
- A Chromecast streaming media player
- A display device with an HDMI input, for example, a high-definition television (HDTV)
- Access to an available power outlet or an available (non-service) USB port on your HDMI-enabled display
- Access to a secure wireless network (make sure you have the wireless network password handy)
- Connection to a 2.4 GHz 802.11 b/g/n WiFi network
- A compatible Windows or Mac computer
Windows Computer (Windows 7 and higher)
1. Install the Chromecast app from Chrome Browser by navigating to chromecast.com/setup.
2. Launch the Chromecast app to view Privacy and Terms. Click Accept.
3. Select your Chromecast from list of device. Click Set Up.
4. To connect your Chromecast to your wireless network. Click Continue.
5. Confirm the code on your computer matches the code on your TV. Click That’s my code.
6. Select your home WiFi network and enter your password. Click Continue.
7. Download the Google Cast extension.
Sweet! You're ready to cast.
Mac OS X Computer (Mac OS 10.7 and higher)
1. Install the Chromecast app from Chrome Browser by navigating to chromecast.com/setup.
2. Click to Download the Chromecast app.
3. Launch the Chromecast app.
4. Find your devices. Click Continue.
5. Select Country. Click Continue.
6. Confirm the code on your computer matches the code on your TV. Click That’s my code.
7. Select your home WiFi network and enter your password. Click Continue
8. Optional: Rename your Chromecast.
9. Download the Google Cast extension.
